Sascha Zehner An adorable debut album. I write you from Germany and I was immediadely fascinated by the authenticity, creativity and innovative style og that recording. Never disobeying the roots, you created your own, easy to recognize style of singer/songwriter and folk tradition! Best luck! Favorite track: Fat Lie.

True North 03:17
Here we are up in the true north, A thousand miles from where you are, But I can hear your heart. You left me here up in the true north, I rest my head beside the hearth, And wonder where it starts. I'm on my knees, praying to a god I don't believe, Baby please come home. And I've hit the ground, too many times since you were not around, Babe I'm so alone, Come back to your true north home. No substitutions for the true north, Could change the place that I call home, The place that I roam. And though I've tried to go back and forth, The northern lights still bring me home, Back to the throne. And I'm on my knees, praying to a god I don't believe, Baby please come home. And I've hit the ground, too many times since you were not around, Babe I'm so alone, Come back to your true north home. Baby come back, Baby come back, Baby come back, Oh, baby come back, Baby come back.

Fat Lie 03:39
Before we burn out, before we break down, Before we wring out our senses, Before we realize we're living a lie, Before we knock down these fences, Before we lay down, we're living right now, So why not give it your best hand? Remembering how we'd live it out loud, But now we are stuck with the rest. Strike down, we fight now, We've held our tongues for way too long, We'll make free this great sea, Your cross-bone sails never belong. In this world rules will never bend, These faceless lies we must transcend. The curtain is drawn, you're breaking like dawn, Forgotten your only weakness, We've torn off your mask, see through you like glass, Fat lie in a million pieces. Like father, like son, like bishop, like pawn, They all wish they knew it was coming, So read 'em and weep, one royal clean sweep, All in that I've got your heart drumming. Strike down, we fight now, We've held our tongues for way too long, We'll make free this great sea, Your cross-bone sails never belong. In this world rules will never bend, These faceless lies we must transcend. But take my hands, we'll make amends. And say what's on your mind, I'll stop and take the time, To find out why you cry.

Dance, my cuckolds, and angels without any wings, While beelzebub tugs on the strings. Shape the new world, With songs of old. Tell tales of war, Rewrite the unwritten score. You're my violent violin, My violent violin, Come close and we'll play one more sin, My violent violin. Please, play me off to sleep. Dance, my puppets, and charm the snakes out of their holes, Sing songs of their faith and their hope. Break hearts, breaks bonds, Reap all, spare none. Gain trust, break bonds, Reap all, spare none. None. You're my violent violin, My violent violin, Come close and we'll play one more sin, My violent violin. Please, play me through my dreams. You're my violent violin, My violent violin, Come close and we'll play one more sin, My violent violin. You're my violent violin, My violent violin, Come close and we'll play one more sin, My violent violin. Please, play me to the end.

Home 03:19
The clock reads 1, 2, 3, again, I just know I'll never get to sleep again, I can't get you off my mind, I know it happens all the time. And I, and I really know I should deal with it, But I kinda like the feel of it, So this time I let it slide, And I roll back to my side. 'Cause your side of the bed's still warm, And I can't be alone anymore, If home is where your heart is, And my heart's with you, I'm going, My pillow still smells like you, And now I'm feeling it through and through, If home is where your heart is, And my heart's with you, I'm going home. Home. So I hop onto that train again, Lucky I'm in love with my best friend, I'm sorry, can't help it, I'm obsessive, you're compulsive, Well it's one week till I'm in your arms, One moment to heal the scars, It's time to turn the tide, and I'm on the winning side. 'Cause your side of the bed's still warm, And I can't be alone anymore, If home is where your heart is, And my heart's with you, I'm going, My pillow still smells like you, And now I'm feeling it through and through, If home is where your heart is, And my heart's with you, I'm going, And what am I to do? If you decide it's not worth it to you, Listen to what I say, It won't end that way. 'Cause your side of the bed's still warm, And I can't be alone anymore, If home is where your heart is, And my heart's with you, I'm going, My pillow still smells like you, And now I'm feeling it through and through, If home is where your heart is, And my heart's with you, I'm going home. Home. Home. Home.

Hinged 04:29
One step closer to the door, Two knees crashing to the floor, Three words settling the score, And I know you've got the fourth. Always, always. Always, always. Five nights closer to your door, Six times I wish I'd known more, Seventeen and walking out your door, I known that you will soar, Away, away. Always, always. And I hold my breath, I'm hinged on a promise of better days, I'll hold your hand and give you what you need. I know times are hard, Tough for you, tough for me, Everything's wrong. And I've raked my mind to find a reason to go on, Short of writing songs. Eighteen, in my college dorm, Nineteen, taking on a storm, Twenty years and wishing I'd done more, Still settling this score. Always, always, Always, always. So I hold my breath, I'm hinged on a promise of better days, I'll hold your hand and give you what you need. I know times are hard, Tough for you, tough for me, Everything's wrong. And I've raked my mind to find a reason to go on, Short of writing songs. Will I wake up one day, And find that I'm okay? Will I stake out a claim, And find it's just a game? Always.

Tumbling down, like a great big Jacob's ladder. Thinning me out, like a weak recessive gene. And don't make impress, I cannot express, The rolling tides and pantomimes, Of every heart that's in disguise. And the days I count, like a game of snakes and ladders. Thinning me out, like a weakling in the ring. Hate, love, and distress, I cannot express, The rolling tides and pantomimes, Of every heart that's left behind. Where is the sun? Where is the, Where is the sun? Where is the, Where is the sun? where is the, Where is the sun? Personal flaws aren't really flaws at all. No, they're just truths we choose to stall.

Unearth my soul, Teach me to let go. So here's my final show. Unhinge my heart, Make a brand new start. The changing of my stars, Will guide me up, you'll find me there, Giving voice to one more quiet prayer, To you, my friends, this love I send, To sweetly make a new start from an end. It takes its toll, Through my head it rolls. Never growing old. Thoughts cross my mind, I read between the lines. They say 'strengthen up your spine'. And guide me up, you'll find me there, Giving voice to one more quiet prayer, To you, my friends, this love I send, To sweetly make a new start from an end. Unearth my soul, Teach me to let go. And to move on from this show.

Come around the bend, Come again, come again, come again. 'Cause I've tried, and I've tried, and I've tried to see, But I never seem to comprehend. And of all the places I've been, All the faces that I've seen, And the children who play, and they play, and they play, And they always seem to find their way. And what have I done? What have I become? Did I really jump the gun, Just like everyone? And what could I have been? Had I only stopped to see, The forest through the trees. Come around the bend, Come again, come again, come again. 'Cause I've tried, and I've tried, and I've tried to see, But I never seem to comprehend. And of all the places I've been, All the faces that I've seen, And the children who play, and they play, and they play, And they always seem to find their way. Oh, help me find my way. Help me find my way. Help me find my way. Find my way, Help me find my way, Help me find my way. Find my way. And what have I done? What have I become? Did I really jump the gun, Just like everyone? And what could I have been? Had I only stopped to see, The forest through the trees.

I've always had a dream, That I'd play out live on the TV screen, That I sat in front of every day, Just trying to figure out a way. So I picked up my guitar, and I jammed some chords right from the heart, But I never realized the words, That I sang out loud were never heard. So everybody, gather round. And hear the sound of my, Streetside, streetside curtain call, This is my now or never, I'll do what I can for you, If you make my dream come true. People always say to me, 'Stop living like a wannabe, Give up and get a job, Forget that streetside curtain call of yours.' You say 'cut the cord', But I say 'wait, just a little more', I'll make you proud, I'll do it all. I'll get that streetside curtain call, So everybody, don't say a word. In case you haven't heard of my, Streetside, streetside curtain call, This is my now or never, I'll do what I can for you, If you make my dream come true. People always say to me, 'Stop living like a wannabe, Give up and get a job, Forget that streetside curtain call of yours.' Of yours. Streetside, streetside curtain call, This is my now or never, I'll do what I can for you, If you make my dream come true.

You test the water with your foot, Just to see if it's too cold. You like to stare up at the sun, Just to make your tears run gold. Now you test the water with your foot, But you're just too scared to dive. Well baby, that's alright with me, You can live your whole life dry. Or you can sail these open seas with me, And find out what this life is all about. Or you can sit up in the highest tree, And try to find a way to get back down. But whatever you decide to choose, Follow through and you will never lose. You like to sit up in the trees, Just to listen to the birds. You cup your hand up to your ear, 'Cause you swear that you heard words. You can sail these open seas with me, And find out what this life is all about. Or you can sit up in the highest tree, And try to find a way to get back down. But whatever you decide to choose, Follow through and you will never lose.
